Camelbak Hydration Packs

Based on feedback from experienced hunters, CamelBak Products has redesigned three popular hydration packs—the Commander XT, Ranger XT and Striker XT. They asked for packs with more hunt-specific organization pockets, greater versatility and the ability to withstand extreme temperatures and conditions.

Overflow storage space on the outside of the pack provides hunters with quick access to gear and an easy way to secure extra layers of clothing. In addition, fleece-lined padded binocular pockets on the Ranger XT and Commander XT and dedicated scope sleeves on the Commander XT provide special places for gear requiring special protection. All three packs use the Therminator Harness, which allows the drinking tube to be routed through the shoulder strap. The tube is covered with neoprene, and the reservoir pocket is lined with closed cell foam for insulation. A quick-release buckle allows the pack to be dropped quickly so the hunter can get in position.

Like other CamelBak products, these hydration packs continue to use the popular Quiet Cloth, a lightweight and water-resistant brushed nylon that lets hunters move more quietly through the brush. The packs come in both Realtree AP HD and Mossy Oak New Break-Up camo patterns. Available July 2008. (800-767-8725; camelbak.com)
