TrueData Ballistic Calculator Now Available

Barnes Bullets and Sierra Bullets have launched a new ballistic calculator, TrueData. With Doppler-verified ballistics, precise environmental inputs, and tools that match real-world performance, TrueData equips hunters and shooters with the ability to make confident shot decisions and achieve data-driven accuracy.

“2025 was a big year for product development at both Sierra and Barnes,” says Andrew Sparks, vice president of marketing and business development at Barnes and Sierra. “We listened, we worked hard, and in 2026 we are bringing products to the market that consumers have been shouting for. TrueData is no different. This app has been a long time coming. It’s been tested and refined, and we think this app is the most complete and user-friendly ballistic calculator available.”

Sparks notes the app has several features that users will appreciate. “The Doppler-Verified Ballistic Library provides instant access to accurate, Doppler-verified data for Sierra and Barnes Bullets,” he says. “Select from multiple drag models, including Doppler-measured curves for supported bullets. These curves capture true bullet behavior across the flight path far beyond the approximations of G1 or G7. With more than 80 Doppler profiles and ongoing expansion, the solver adapts to exact projectiles. G1/G7 values autofill for all bullets where Doppler data is not yet available. In addition, the Ammunition Library provides detailed ballistic profiles for Barnes factory-loaded ammunition. Users can also build and manage multiple rifle profiles that allows a shooter to switch setups without re-entering data.”

Other key features include an intuitive head’s-up display, Bluetooth connectivity, a virtual rangefinder, target card, and a stage timer.
