    Performance You Can Trust

    News Briefs - November / December 2026

    Blue Force Gear

There’s an old saying with the ring of truth: ounces equal pounds, and pounds equal pain. Anyone who’s spent a full day carrying a rifle over rocky terrain understands exactly what that means. It doesn't matter if you’re a trained professional or a weekend range goer; all that unnecessary weight adds up fast. Every extra ounce hanging from your rifle or riding on your gear eventually takes its toll.

Lucky for us, Blue Force Gear set out to solve this problem decades ago. Not by making compromises, but by rethinking how tactical equipment should be built in the first place. Today, Blue Force Gear ranks among the industry’s most respected names in lightweight tactical equipment. Their slings, load-bearing gear, medical pouches, belts, and accessories are trusted by military units, law enforcement agencies, and armed citizens around the world. These products aren’t designed to look tactical sitting on a shelf, though. They’re built to perform when people are counting on them.

The reality is that not every sling, pouch, or belt is created equal. Materials matter. Stitching matters. Design matters. And experience matters most of all. Blue Force Gear has spent years refining each of those details.

One of the company's biggest contributions has been its commitment to cutting weight without sacrificing durability. Through proprietary materials such as ULTRAcomp, they’ve developed equipment that’s lighter, stronger, and more resistant to wear than many traditional alternatives. The result is gear that’s easier to carry through a long training day while still standing up to hard, real-world use. It’s an approach that reflects how professionals actually use their equipment.

A sling is part of a rifle’s handling characteristics, so a poorly designed sling becomes a distraction while a good one disappears until it’s needed. Which, as it so happens, is exactly why the Vickers Sling has become one of the most recognized rifle slings in the world. Designed in collaboration with retired Army Special Operations veteran Larry Vickers, the sling introduced a simple concept that changed expectations across the industry—quick, intuitive adjustment that can be accomplished without breaking focus on the task at hand. Since then, countless shooters have adopted the design and just as many manufacturers have tried to imitate it. The original, however, remains the benchmark.

That same “quality products, reliable service” philosophy runs through Blue Force Gear’s entire lineup. Every pouch, belt, and accessory prioritizes practical function over unnecessary complexity. Clean designs, quality materials, and thoughtful engineering consistently outweigh virtually everything else. It should be no surprise that Blue Force Gear has earned its reputation the hard way—through years of use by professionals whose equipment doesn’t get second chances. Professionals, whether it be LEOs, military personnel, or big-name competitors, rightfully have a low tolerance for mid-tier, C-grade equipment. They demand quality and consistency, knowing full well that when worst comes to worst, their lives depend on their gear as much as their training. Second chances just don't happen.

It’s a lesson the firearms industry continues to learn, Blue Force Gear included. To that point, the company continues to represent something increasingly valuable: purposeful innovation. Not innovation for the sake of headlines, but meaningful improvements that make equipment lighter, stronger, and easier to use. In today’s crowded, often gimmick-filled market, where products consistently fall short of their promises, Blue Force Gear’s dedication to building quality gear speaks for itself.
