The result is a rock-solid 1911 with forged steel construction, modern upgrades, and the strength to provide a lifetime of service. To ensure maximum downrange accuracy, the sturdily built steel adjustable rear sight unit offers full windage and elevation adjustments. In addition, its rear face is black and serrated to help disperse sunlight and ensure a solid sight picture. The front sight features a high-visibility white dot. A set of attractively checkered thin-line wood grips ensure a solid hold on the pistol.

As with all Springfield Armory 1911 pistols, the new Garrison Target models in .45 ACP and 9mm feature forged steel construction in their carbon steel slides and frames, ensuring durability and strength. The match-grade 5-inch barrel is constructed of forged stainless steel for maximum downrange accuracy.
